    As the premier business, innovation and information platform connecting the smart utility community, the European Utility Week (EUW) focuses on regional and global developments in Grid Optimisation, Renewables, Energy Storage, Smart Metering, Smart Cities, Smart Homes, Energy Services & Efficiency, Intelligent Buildings, Data Management, Analytics and IoT, Cyber Security, Smart Gas and Smart Water.

    The event serves as an annual meeting point for the community and will be attended by 12,000 international visitors, 450 speakers and 600 exhibitors.
    Innovation underlines every element of the show with a special focus on connecting people from all levels of the utility value chain from technology giants to start-ups and from senior-level experts to young talent.

    Unique to European Utility Week is the Hub Session programme taking place on the exhibition floor where visitors can attend presentations, panels and discussions for free.

    EDSO for Smart Grids (EDSO), the European sector association representing electricity distribution system operators (DSOs) has partnered with European Utility Week, the premier business, innovation and information platform for the smart utility community.

    EDSO will be involved in coordinating a Hub Session as part of the Intelligent Grid programme highlighting innovative projects. In this Hub Session, the twin projects DREAM, evolvDSO, IDE4L and INCREASE co-funded by the European Commission’s FP7 programme will present their vision on how to reduce the innovation gap for active network management.

    The session is titled “Innovation in Grids: Active Network Management, from Concept to Reality”, will be held on Tuesday, November 17th, and will be presented by Roberto Zangrandi, Special Advisor, EDSO for Smart Grids.

    DREAM project views will be presented by Raphael Caire, Project Coordinator of DREAM, Associate Professor at the Grenoble Institute of Technology.

    Themes that will be addressed by Professor Caire are:

    • Lessons learned from the tests/demonstrations
    • Roadmap and solutions
